As Wallace High School’s Class of 2017 move closer to completing their external examinations, we reflect upon their recent celebration of their time at Wallace, as they enjoyed a fantastic leavers’ day that enabled both staff and pupils to reminisce on the last seven years! A formal Leavers’ Assembly started proceedings with speeches from Principal Deborah O’Hare, Head of Year Julie Dumigan, Head Girl Emily Howard, Head Boy Jordan Taggart and Clarissa Browne from the Leavers’ Committee. An entertaining photo montage, organised by Assistant Head of Year, Emma Rogers along with a musical farewell from Emily Cairns, Anna Farrelly and members of the choir continued events. Many teachers had taken the opportunity to bid farewell in a witty video sequence filmed by Laura Bailey, which brought formal proceedings to a close.
The students then moved to the school grounds where they enjoyed a tasty BBQ and an afternoon of fun and relaxation, taking time to play on the bouncy castle and cool down with an ice-cream. Clarissa Browne commented, “It was the perfect end to a great school career.”
The Pastoral team concluded, “Thank you to the Leavers’ Committee for all their hard work and to all our Year 14 students for personifying the CORE values of The Wallace High School and for their varied contributions to school life. We wish everyone well as they complete their external examinations and look forward to hearing about what happens next.”
