030805.jpgThe Wallace High School celebrated another year of remarkable sporting achievements at their recent sports awards ceremony. Individual achievements were recognised with colours and representative honours certificates, whilst the eagerly awaited House competition results were announced, with Seymour and Conway being victorious. The girls’ competition in particular had been extremely close, with only 50 points separating the three girls’ houses at the end of a year’s competitons.

Highlights of the year include the phenomenal success of the Minor netball team who won the SEELB league, NI League and Cup and Irish Championships. Badminton continues to flourish with the senior Girls lifting Ulster League and Irish Championships, the Junior Girls winning Ulster Cup, League and Irish Championships, the Minor Girls Ulster League and Cup trophies and the Year 8 girls winning the Ulster Cup.

The U14 boys won the Ulster Cup and the Division 2 Irish Championships.In rugby, the Thirds won the Schools’ Plate whilst one of the school’s showjumping teams, the Wallace High Flyers, won the Mossvale Inter Schools League.The Junior Boys’ Golf team also won the Ulster Schools’ Championship.

The most recent success was that of the First XI cricket team who defeated FSL by 10 wickets in the Schools’ Cup . The Wallace boys have also reached the final of the Eadie Shield.
