A Celebration of Hockey is scheduled for Friday 8 th June at Wallace’s now famous “smurf turf.” Former pupil Timmy Cockram’s amazing achievements as an international player and Olympian will be celebrated by an exciting encounter between a Wallace “dream team” featuring Timmy and current Irish international players Sean Murray and Matthew Nelson. The opposition? Local Olympian Jonny Bell will field a select team including his fellow Olympian Eugene Magee.
This promises to be an excellent night out for current and past hockey enthusiasts; an early start at 7.00pm makes this a “family friendly” event and to add to the atmosphere hot dogs and drinks will be available. This is a great opportunity to connect with school friends, enjoy some exciting hockey and perhaps see our enhanced sports facilities for the first time. There is no entry fee but a raffle will be held in aid of CLIC Sargent (cancer care for young people) which is Timmy’s chosen charity. Will the weather will still be warm? Hopefully! The welcome will definitely be!
