We are delighted that our Year 11 and 12 students have achieved another year of excellent GCSE results, showcasing the dedication and hard work of both our young people and staff. Our students have risen to the occasion, demonstrating resilience and determination in achieving their best. The GCSEs are a milestone in any young person’s education and represent the culmination of two years of hard work.
This year’s results reflect a strong academic performance across all subjects. An impressive percentage of our students attained top grades, with many securing multiple A* and A grades. The success achieved across a diverse range of subjects highlights the comprehensive and well-rounded education offered at Wallace High School.
Over 1,850 GCSE qualifications were completed, with many students achieving an impressive 12 GCSEs, many completing 11 and the vast majority 10 GCSEs. 55 students attained 8 or more A*-A grades. 99% of our students were awarded 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Mathematics and 96% of our students achieved 7 or more A*-C grades including English and Mathematics. These impressive results are spread across a vast range of subjects, and this diversity of choice allows our young people to nurture their own interests and talents.
Head of Year
Head of Year, Ms Ferguson, is thrilled with the success of Year 12 and commented:
“I am delighted with these tremendous results and I look forward to catching up with all 180 of the Year Group in the coming days to celebrate their achievements. Each and every one of them has much to be proud of. The resilience displayed by these young people over the past few years is worthy of note, and it has been a true privilege for me to see them mature into well-rounded individuals who contribute so much to the school and the wider community.”
Mrs O’Hare
Principal Mrs O’Hare expressed her pride in the students’ achievements, stating:
“We are incredibly proud of our Year 12 pupils. Their success is a testament to the dedication, adaptability, and commitment they have shown throughout their studies. Our young people chose to challenge themselves and study 10, 11 or 12 GCSEs and this provides them with a breadth of knowledge to support skill development and inform sound choices for A’ level or other Level 3 qualifications. These results are the outcome of sustained effort, the support of our dedicated teaching staff, and the encouragement from families and the wider school community. We are also very happy to share this day with the CEO of CCEA, Mr Gerry Campbell, and his colleagues, who were here in school on such a sunny and happy morning to celebrate with us.”
The GCSE results not only open doors to future academic opportunities but also lay a strong foundation for personal growth and development. Many students are now looking forward to continuing their studies at Wallace High School’s large and successful Sixth Form, where they will build on this success as they pursue A-level qualifications. We are also proud of our young people who will now move to Further Education and/or apprenticeships beyond Wallace, we wish you the very best of luck and are proud of your results and hard work.
