In a manner of speaking it was advice “direct from the horse’s mouth” when the Business and Economics Department welcomed Peter McQuaid from Equestrian and Farm Feeds at www.efflisburn.com to be interviewed by Year 12 GCSE Business Studies students. His recent visit was invaluable to the students.
Equestrian and Farm Feeds have been trading for over 40 years and are based in Lisburn, County Antrim. Originally opened and managed by the well-known Nicholson Family in 1980, as a distributor of equestrian feeds and supplements, the business has gone from strength to strength. It stocks and distributes most major equine feeds and products required for the everyday health of your horse. Spillers, Dengie, Redmills, Allen & Page, and Dodson & Horrell are just some of the products that are distributed throughout Ireland.
Equestrian and Farm Feeds has been investing in and expanding its business for the past 30 years and aims to continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Peter was interviewed by our Year 12 GCSE Business Studies students who are carrying out primary market research for their forthcoming Unit 3 Controlled Assessment. Peter’s contribution will assist students both in the preparation and completion of the assessment, which is worth 20% of their GCSE grade.
Peter was a wealth of information and knowledge, he provided students with information on the scale of operating a Feed Business, the decisions the business has made to ensure they are providing their customers with a personal touch, and how the external environment is impacting the business.
We would like to thank Peter for visiting The Wallace High School and giving us his valuable time.
