Central to our annual Open Morning is the publication of the school’s Prospectus. In 2021 and 2022 this document has been an online journal, reflecting the circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Department of Education’s advice. The Prospectus is designed as a snapshot of the richness of Wallace life providing a pictorial highlight of the previous year in addition to essential information such as the admissions policy, our curriculum and our GCSE, AS and A2 results. Our 2021 publication celebrated some of the achievements of the previous decade and even featured film links.
Creating a cover shot which communicates a key message about our school family is always an exciting creative challenge …although no shot has ever been more challenging than our 2013 extravaganza when we set ourselves the task of photographing every pupil in the school! Four hours of military style efficiency, a team of staff photographers and a packet of Haribo for each pupil as they left the photoshoot produced a cover which has been copied but never (in our judgement anyway!) equalled. This memorable day was captured on film and we hope that our now former pupils will enjoy reliving the fun.
Our 2022 Prospectus introduced a new theme #MadeInWallace which will celebrate the achievements of present and past pupils and our cover shot reflected the concepts of family, modernity and tradition which are at the very heart of Wallace life. Wearing specially designed tee shirts featuring our school crest and the #MadeInWallace our cover stars represented different generations of Wallace life. Our former pupil and current Chair of the Board of Governors, Mrs Sandra McCabe, looked every inch a rock star whilst Head Boy Ewan Patterson and Head Girl Sophie Hinds showed pre-Prep and Prep pupils Seb Palmer and Libby Jordan how bright the future can be. A big thank you to our ICT technician Mr David Finney who was responsible for the photography and to former member of our Board of Governors, Mr Robert Hood, who has been our prospectus designer for over a decade.
We look forward to showcasing the achievements of a range of former pupils under our new theme #MadeInWallace and we hope you enjoy these glimpses into our recent past.
