Dr Shepherd was thrilled to see the achievements accomplished in Year 8 and was equally pleased to see the students rewarded for achievement, improvement, and attendance. These attributes, backed by a strong work ethic and a desire to do well, are important life skills and the foundation of success at GCSE and A Level. She added:

“I look forward to seeing how all Year 9s take this on board, and I envisage handing out many more prizes in the years to come.”

Year 10 Celebration Assembly

Year 10 students attended the second of the three Key Stage 3 Assemblies on Thursday, 14th November, joined by their class tutors and their pastoral leads, Mrs Dumigan and Ms Coughlan.
The winners, shown below, were eagerly supported by the rest of the year group and radiated joy and satisfaction as they collected their Amazon vouchers and posed for photographs after receiving their awards.

Mrs Dumigan and Ms Coughlan remarked:

“Celebrating academic achievement in Key Stage 3 recognises the hard work, growth, and dedication shown by students. Throughout these foundational years, students develop critical skills, explore subjects, and build confidence in their abilities. Whether through excelling in core tasks, mastering challenging topics, or demonstrating resilience in the face of difficulties, Key Stage 3 is a time of tremendous academic progress.
This celebration is not just about the grades achieved, but also about the perseverance, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning that students bring to their education. It marks a significant milestone in their academic journey, setting the stage for even greater accomplishments in the years to come. As students look forward to Key Stage 4, this achievement serves as a reminder of their potential and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.”

Year 11 Celebration Assembly

Year 11 students attended the final Key Stage 3 Assembly on Thursday, 21st November, joined by their class tutors and their pastoral leads, Mr Glenn and Miss Wilson.

The Year 11s are now almost one term into GCSE study and understand the effort required to maintain and improve upon their Key Stage 3 success. It was evident that the winners were extremely proud of their achievements.

Mr Glenn and Miss Wilson thought the event was a fantastic display of the high levels of achievement within the year group and a fitting celebration of the success attained during the previous year. They added:

“We are delighted with the accomplishments of the Year 11 cohort and look forward to further success in the future.”

Reflections on Pupil Success

Reflecting on our pupils success at Key Stage 3, Senior Teacher, Mrs Jordan, reflected:

“I am delighted to celebrate the individual successes of the pupils in this way and showcase their collective efforts and achievements for the rest of the year group. I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to all the winners and wish them continued success in this academic year. The winners themselves act as an inspiration, and we hope to see similar successes this time next year!”
