It is a source of great pride to the school that so many of our students show such commitment to, and enthusiasm for, school sport with hundreds of students arriving at school every Saturday morning (sometimes in miserable weather) to play hockey and rugby. Their commitment is matched by that of the PE Department staff and many staff from other departments who share their passion for team sport.
The PE Department recently hosted their new look Senior Sports Award Assembly when awards were presented to students representing the school in Years 12-14 in the school based sports of rugby, hockey, cricket, netball and athletics at senior level during the 2022-23 season.
In addition to receiving their Sporting Colours medals were also presented to students in the following categories in each sport:
- Player of the Year,
- Top Points Scorer and
- Most Improved Player
Students achieving Representative Honours at national and international level were acknowledged and the various team trophies won this year were presented by team captains. The staff, winners and invited audience of senior pupils enjoyed the celebrations and were the first to hear the winners of this year’s House competitions!
