Welcome

Mrs D O'Hare

Welcome to The Wallace High School where our ethos is deeply rooted in the legacy of our founder, Sir Richard Wallace whose vision of education as a transformative force, in 1880, continues to inspire us.

Our commitment to pastoral care ensures that every student feels supported and valued. We recognize the importance of nurturing both the academic and personal development of our students, fostering a community where everyone can thrive and be happy.

The School crest, with our motto "Esperance," meaning "Hope," celebrates our commitment to fostering a hopeful and forward-thinking community. With a focus on an academic curriculum as a selective grammar school, we provide our young people with challenging and varied opportunities to develop, grow, be successful and happy. Our staff are caring, innovative and lifelong learners; we expect our students to work hard, respect each other, challenge themselves and set realistic goals to keep progressing.

We are dedicated to cultivating an environment where commitment, opportunity, respect, and excellence are at the forefront of everything we do. These values are the foundation of our approach to education. In today's rapidly evolving world, digital innovation and sustainability are essential components of our educational philosophy. We integrate cutting- edge technology and eco-conscious practices into our School, preparing students for the future while instilling a sense of responsibility towards our planet.

At Wallace High School, we emphasise the development of transversal skills. Our future- focused approach ensures that our students are prepared for the challenges of tomorrow, are equipped to be socially conscious young people who contribute positively to society today and will have a meaningful impact in the world. We refer to our philosophy as The Wallace Way.

We develop young people in the round, we value personal qualities and transversal skills, resilience and empathy, pride and humility; we value the achievement of each individual who tries their best and we encourage a growth mindset.

Mrs D. O'Hare (Principal).
